चीन द्वारा मंगलवार को अरुणाचल प्रदेश और अक्साई चिन सहित अन्य क्षेत्रों पर दावा करते हुए एक नक्शा जारी करने पर पलटवार करते हुए, केंद्रीय विदेश मंत्री एस जयशंकर ने कहा कि क्षेत्रों पर बेतुके दावे करने से वे उनके नहीं हो जाएंगे। केंद्रीय मंत्री ने ऐसे मानचित्र जारी करने को चीन की पुरानी आदत बताते हुए कहा, 'चीन ने पहले भी ऐसे मानचित्र जारी किए हैं जो उन क्षेत्रों पर दावा करते हैं जो चीन के नहीं हैं, जो अन्य देशों के हैं। ये उनकी पुरानी आदत है. यह कोई नई बात नहीं है. इसकी शुरुआत 1950 के दशक में हुई... हम बहुत स्पष्ट हैं कि हमारे क्षेत्र क्या हैं। यह सरकार इस बारे में बहुत स्पष्ट है कि हमें अपने क्षेत्रों की रक्षा के लिए क्या चाहिए। आप इसे बाहरी सीमाओं पर पहले से ही देख सकते हैं।

In a rebuttal to China releasing a map on Tuesday staking claim over Arunachal Pradesh and Aksai Chin among other regions, Union External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said that making absurd claims over territories wouldn’t make them theirs. the Union Minister, calling the release of such maps an old habit of China, said: “China has even in the past put out maps which claim the territories which are not China’s, which belong to other countries. This is an old habit of theirs. It is not something which is new. It started in the 1950s… We are very clear what our territories are. This government is very clear about what we need to defend our territories. You can already see that on out borders.
