Directed by Vishal Pandya, the film hit theatres on Friday ( July 18) and going by the figures wethinks Hate Story 2 has done a decent job so far at the ticket windows

Surveen Chawla, Jay Bhanushali and Sushant Singh starrer Hate Story 2 had a good start at the box office. On day 1, the romantic thriller managed to collect Rs 5.46 crore nett at the Indian box office. Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh posted on Twitter, "#Hate Story 2 springs a HUGE surprise at the box-office. Fri -- 5.46 cr nett. India biz. FANTASTIC." However, on Saturday the collections went down. as Surveen and Jay's Bollywood debut raked in only Rs 4.74 crore nett. But on Sunday the film pulled in crowds to the cinema halls it seems. Coz Hate Story 2grossed Rs 5.65 crore nett at the ticket windows. Adarsh tweeted, "#Hate Story 2 Fri 5.46 cr, Sat 4.74 cr, Sun 5.65 cr. Total -- 15.85 cr nett. India biz. EXCELLENT." Well, there was a lot of buzz around Vishal Pandya's directorial venture courtesy Ms Chawla's bold avatar. While the sequel of Hate Story didn't witness an earth shattering opening, the film has done well at the box office considering it had no big stars but two newcomers.

Apart from Hate Story 2, Vir Das starrer Amit Sahni Ki List and Pizza 3D also released last week. But sadly both the films fared miserably at the box office.
