Haseena Parkar - Real Life Story Behind Shraddha Kapoor's Haseena Parkar Movie

Actress Shraddha Kapoor will be seen playing the lead role in Apoorva Lakhia’s upcoming gangland drama ‘Haseena Parkar’, which is based on the life of dreaded don Dawood Ibrahim’s sister Haseena and the trailer of the film was released today.



However, not any may know about the real Haseena Parkar. Read on to find out some facts about the ‘Godmother of Nagpada’, as she was known in police circles…



· Haseena Parkar was Dawood Ibrahim’s younger sister and was the 7th child while Dawood Ibrahim is the 3rd amongst the 12 siblings.

· Haseena became a part of the dreaded ‘D-Company’ after her husband was gunned down by assailants from the Arun Gawli gang following a dispute between the two underworld factions.


· After her husband’s murder, she started running operations from the Gordon Hall Apartments in Nagpada, which she took over as her base of operations.



· Though Haseena always maintained that she was not in touch with Dawood after he fled India, it was discovered that she was secretly overseeing her brother’s business in Mumbai and even owned assets valued at Rs. 5000 Crore!



· Haseena lost her eldest son Danish, who was considered to be Dawood’s favourite nephew in a car accident on the Mumbai-Goa highway while he was returning from Goa in the year 2006. The incident is said to have devastated her.



· Haseena used to be contacted by builders to help them get “permission” from slum dwellers to redevelop their plot under SRA schemes as Haseena’s word was the law in her reign.



· Parkar also negotiated overseas rights of Bollywood films, especially films to be released in Central Russia and the Gulf countries.



· Haseena Parkar passed away following a heart-attack in the year 2014.



Directed by Apoorva Lakhia, Haseena Parkar stars Shraddha Kapoor, Siddhanth Kapoor and Ankur Bhatia. Produced by Nahid Khan with Swiss Entertainment and co-produced by Sameer Antulay and Babu Tyagi, the film is set to release on 18th August 2017.
