Farhan Akhtar back in Shahrukh Khan starrer Raees
by Dholakia's Raees has been in the news ever since the filmmaker announced the project. Initially Shahrukh Khan and Farhan Akhtar were to play the lead in the film. While Khan is playing a don in the film, Akhtar was suppose to play a cop. But soon reports did the rounds that Farhan decided to back out of Raees as he was keen to do Dev Benegal's Bombay Samuraialongside Kareena Kapoor Khan.

Since the dates of both Raees and Bombay Samurai were clashing, the filmmaker-actor-singer opted out from Rahul Dholakia's film. However, Benegal's film has taken a back seat which means Farhan calendar is not longer blocked. And though rumours were rife that Nawazuddin Siddiquiwould replaceFarhan in Raees, the former has clarified that he was never approached for the film.
