All the ladies are excited about the party in the evening at the Navroj celebrations… In the evening everyone gather at the club house…Everyone is waiting for the Sodhi family…& finally the Sodhi’s arrive...Everyone greet them Navroj Mubarak… Sodhi introduces his in-laws to the members of society…Tapu Sena decides talk to Bhide about the funds for Ganesh Utsav & forms a committee, where Tapu is director, Sonu is secretary. Goli is the treasurer; Gogi & Pinkoo are the committee members. Sonu calls up Bhide & takes a formal appointment & Bhide is zapped…He asks them to see him after 5 mins…Meanwhile he reads out the notice to Madhavi which he had drafted regarding Ganesh Utsav Celebration in the society. The notice stated that each flat had to contribute 1000/- Rs. Towards the celebration. Just then Tapu Sena arrives, Madhavi asks them what they would prefer to have & they call for juice…the meeting begins…Tapu says that their Ganesh Utsav Committee wanted to celebrate the festival in a big way & check how much fund was balance in the society & how much would they let them spend…Just then Madhavi arrives with the juice tray…Goli takes his two glasses & Tapu puts his hand forward to pick the glass to pass it on to Pinkoo & he happens to drop it & Bhide is furious…He calls Tapu in-disciplined & tells him that he should first learn to conduct himself & then think of planning big things… he also tells Tapu that he would never get better… Tapu feels humiliated…Just then Abdul arrives & asks Bhide why he was called…Bhide asks Madhavi to get some change (Money). Sonu tries to talk but Bhide angrily asks her to shut-up & tells Abdul that he had called him with regards to contribution for Ganesh Utsav but Abdul says that all the building functions were managed by the kids…All the kids say YES in chorus & Bhide says NO…not this time & says first they ought to learn some manners…All the kids feel humiliated…Bhide announces that their Ganesh Utsav Committee was dissolved with immediate effect…& Tapu looks angry…

The show is inspired from the famous humorous column 'Duniya Ne Undha Chasma' written by the eminent Gujarati writer Mr. Tarak Mehta. This story evolves around happenings in "Gokuldham Co-operative Society" and covers topical issues which are socially relevant.The show predominantly revolves around 'Jethalaal' (Dilip Joshi) who is an uneducated Gujarati businessman. Your 'Taarak Mehta' (Sailesh Lodha), is his neighbour. 'Jethalaal' finds a friend and philosopher in 'Taarak Mehta' and often goes to him for advice whenever he is in trouble. Jethalaal's family includes his simpleton wife 'Daya Ben' (Disha Wakani) and a mischievous son 'Tapu' (Bhavya Gandhi). Tapu is a menace and a constant source of trouble to all the members of Gokuldham. They have often warned 'Jethalaal' to reform 'Tapu' or else be prepared to leave the premises. Lost hopes of being heard by his son pushes Jethalaal' to call his father 'Champaklal' (Amit Bhatt) from the village. This was his great idea of leashing some control over the mischievous Tapu. The opposite happens and the grandfather joins hands with the grandson to make life a roller coaster troublesome ride for Jethalaal.
