Note: Onion, Tomato, Ginger, Garlic can be chopped very fine but my kids do not like them so I try to blend in such a way that they do not find out about them.

Daal Tadka Fry Ingredients:
Whole spices such as Cinnamon, cloves, Dry whole red chillis, pepper corn, cumin seeds
1 cup Lentils / dal (Any of your favorite)
1 Onion, finely chopped or pureed
2 big Tomatoes, finely chopped or pureed
Ginger garlic, minced or paste
1/4 tsp Turmeric, Red chilli powder to taste
1/2 tbsp Coriander Cumin powder(Dhaniya jeera)
Garam Masala to taste
Salt Sugar to taste - sugar is optional
Lemon Slice, Green Chilli, Onion if desired for condiments
For Tempering:
1 tbsp Oil + 1 tsp Ghee - Clarified butter is optional
1/2 tsp Cumin
1 tsp Mustard Seeds
1-2 Dried red Chilli (or use Green Chilli)
Pinch of Asafoetida, Turmeric powder, red chilli powder if desired
Few sprigs of Curry Leaves (optional)
Few sprigs of Cilantro, for garnish
