Deepika Padukone has been very vocal about her battle with depression and champions the cause of mental illness and it seems she recently took a dig at Salman Khan for his comment on depression.
DeePee recently stated that depression can happen to anyone, irrespective of their socio-economic background. She said that sometimes ‘depression is perceived as a luxury ’and people think that those who have too much time or money get into depression.
Now, the last we heard another actor using the words depression and luxury in the same sentence, was in February, by Salman Khan. Salman had stated that he sees a lot of people getting depressed and emotional but he can’t ‘afford the luxury of being depressed or sad’ no matter what he is going through in life as it works against him.
When Salman made this remark many people felt that he had taken a subtle dig at Deepika.
