इंडियन ओवरसीज कांग्रेस के अध्यक्ष सैम पित्रोदा आए दिन अपने बयानों को लेकर विवादों में बने रहते हैं. खासकर जब चुनाव हो तो उनके सुर ही अलग बदल जाते हैं. एक बार फिर से सैम ने ऐसा बयान दिया है जिसने कांग्रेस भी बैकपुट पर आ गई है. अब पित्रोदा ने देश के पूर्वोत्तर और दक्षिण क्षेत्र के राज्यों में रहने वाले लोगों को लेकर टिप्पणी की है। उनकी इस टिप्पणी से कांग्रेस ने दूरी बना ली है। कांग्रेस नेता जयराम रमेश ने कहा कि भारत की विविधता को चित्रित करने के लिए सैम पित्रोदा द्वारा पॉडकास्ट में कही गई उपमाएं सबसे दुर्भाग्यपूर्ण और अस्वीकार्य हैं।
