Last week, Abhishek Chaubey's Dedh Ishqiya and Divya Khosla Kumar's Yaariyanhit the theatres. Since the films belong to completely different genres, we expected them to do well, and they did.

Divya Kumar's directorial debut witnessed adhamakedaar response at the ticket windows on the day of its release. As per the latest reports, Yaariyan has raked in approximately Rs 11 crore at the domestic box office already.

Dedh Ishqiya, on the other hand, had a dry start on Friday, but with the word of mouth and positive reviews the comedy thriller managed to fare well over the weekend. Though Yaariyan is clearly ahead of Dedh Ishqiya in the numbers game as of now, wethinks the latter will certainly catch up.

We hope they catch up soon enough because next week Salman Khan's much-awaited Jai Ho will hit the screens. And we all know that when a Salman film releases, no other movie stands a chance at the box office!
