This is a non vegetarian kofta curry prepared with chicken mince and bottle gourd. This can be served with naan and roti.
INGREDIENTS:
Poppy seeds 1 tbs
Dry coconut 10 gms
Cashew nuts 10 nos
Chicken mince 150 gms,
Chana dal 1 cup
Garam masala ½ tsp
Black cumin seeds ½ tsp
Onions ½ cup
Salt To taste
Ginger(finely chopped) ½ tsp
Garlic(finely chopped) ½ tsp
Turmeric powder ½ tsp
Green chillies 3 nos
Curry leaves 1 spring
Coriander powder ½ tsp
Red chilly powder ½ tsp
Coriander leaves(chopped) 1 tbs
Bottle gourd pieces 1 cup
Oil 5 tbs
METHOD:
1. Take a mixie jar and add poppy seeds, dry coconut, soaked cashew nuts, little water and blend into smooth paste.
2. Take another mixie jar and add chicken, soaked chana dal, garam masala and blend into coarse paste.
3. Take small dumpling and make round balls and shallow fry in pan and keep aside.
4. In the same pan add black cumin seeds, onions, little salt and saute it.
5. To it add chopped ginger garlic paste, turmeric powder, green chillies, curry leaves, coriander powder, red chilly powder and mix it once.
6. Add poppy seeds paste, water and mix nicely, add bottle gourd pieces and cook it.
7. Once bottle gourd is half cooked add chicken meat balls and saute it.
8. Check for seasoning and add salt, water, coriander leaves and mix nicely.
9. Now bottle gourd chicken chana dal kofta curry is ready to serve with phulka or naan.
