India all-rounder Washington Sundar backed his side's batting duo Rishabh Pant and Dhruv Jurel after their batting crumbled on Day 3 of the Guwahati Test against South Africa. He insisted that the duo's aggressive approach stemmed from intent rather than recklessness, but ultimately failed due to poor execution.

With India replying to South Africa’s imposing 489 and losing wickets in clusters, both batters found themselves in the line of fire for their shot selection. Sundar, however, urged a more balanced view, reminding that such strokes have worked for them in the past and are part of a larger team plan.
