समाजवादी पार्टी के वरिष्ठ नेता और उत्तर प्रदेश के नेता प्रतिपक्ष माता प्रसाद पांडेय को प्रशासन ने बहराइच जाने की अनुमति नहीं दी है। माता प्रसाद पांडेय हिंसा प्रभावित परिवारों से मिलने के लिए बहराइच का दौरा करने वाले थे। ये दौरा हिंसा की घटनाओं के बाद उनकी संवेदना प्रकट करने और स्थिति का जायज़ा लेने के लिए था। प्रशासन के इस फैसले पर समाजवादी पार्टी ने नाराजगी जताई है, जबकि स्थानीय प्रशासन ने सुरक्षा कारणों का हवाला देकर मंजूरी नहीं दी।

The administration has not given permission to senior Samajwadi Party leader and Uttar Pradesh Leader of Opposition Mata Prasad Pandey to visit Bahraich. Mata Prasad Pandey was to visit Bahraich to meet the violence-affected families. This visit was to express condolences and take stock of the situation after the incidents of violence. The Samajwadi Party has expressed displeasure over this decision of the administration, while the local administration did not give permission citing security reasons.
