बिहार सरकार ने आज जातीय जनगणना के आंकड़े जारी कर दिए। आंकड़ों के मुताबिक बिहार में 82 प्रतिशत हिन्दू हैं, 17 प्रतिशत मुसलमान और 1 प्रतिशत में दूसरे धर्म के लोग शामिल हैं। बिहार में जाति के आंकड़ों को गौर से देखें तो OBC यानी पिछड़े और अति पिछड़ों की तादाद सबसे ज़्यादा 63 प्रतिशत है और अब इन्हीं पर सभी पार्टियों का फ़ोकस है। नीतीश कुमार और लालू प्रसाद यादव बिहार से उठी जाति की बात को अब पूरे देश में ले जाने की बात कर रहे हैं। वहीं प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने जात-पात के नाम पर वोट मांगने वालों को जवाब देते हुए कहा कि कुछ लोगों को देश के विकास से नफ़रत है, वो पहले भी समाज को बांटते थे और आज भी वही कर रहे हैं।

If we look carefully at the caste statistics in Bihar, the number of OBC i.e. backward and extremely backward people is the highest at 63 percent and now the focus of all the parties is on them. Nitish Kumar and Lalu Prasad Yadav are now talking about taking the issue of caste raised from Bihar to the entire country. While replying to those asking for votes in the name of caste, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that some people hate the development of the country, they used to divide the society earlier also and are doing the same even today.
