जमीयत प्रमुख मौलाना अरशद मदनी के हिंदू धर्म पर विवादित बयानों से उपजा विवाद थमने का नाम नहीं ले रहा है। मदनी ने मूल रूप से यह दावा किया कि मनु, जिसे हिंदू ब्रह्मा के आध्यात्मिक पुत्र और सभी हिंदुओं के पूर्वज के रूप में मानते हैं, हज़रत आदम के अलावा कोई नहीं था और वह अल्लाह की पूजा करता था। जैन मुनि आचार्य लोकेश ने गुस्से में खंडन किया और जमीयत बैठक से बाहर चले गए। अब, अखिल भारतीय इमाम एसोसिएशन के प्रमुख मौलाना साजिद रशीदी ने एक कदम आगे बढ़कर दावा किया है कि इस्लाम वास्तव में पृथ्वी पर सबसे पुराना धर्म है और यह भारतीय उपमहाद्वीप में उत्पन्न हुआ है।

The controversy sparked by Jamiat chief Maulana Arshad Madani’s controversial statements on Hinduism is refusing to die down. Madani basically made the claim that Manu, whom Hindus consider as the spiritual son of Brahma and the progenitor of all Hindus, was none other than Hazrat Adam and that he used to worship Allah. Jain Muni Acharya Lokesh made an angry rebuttal and walked out of the Jamiat meeting. Now, All India Imam Association chief Maulana Sajid Rashidi has gone a step further and claimed that Islam in fact is the oldest religion on Earth and that it originated in the Indian subcontinent.
