Alia Bhatt: I hope people don't get sick of me

Interestingly, this won't be her only release this year. She has two more lined up 2 States and Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhaniya. Alia says, "Yes, it's a full year for me and it feels good! After not having a release for a year, having three in 2014 is a good thing. I am very excited about all the three releases, but I hope people don't get sick of me that's all (laughs). However, since all the films are different from each other, it will be nice to watch, I guess." Amongst the three releases, Highway that released recently is most special to her. Alia says, "I want Highway to get all the love possible. And I am happy that I've had an overwhelming journey through this film. I hope people see it in the film."

Ask Alia, what she looks for while signing a film, and pat comes the reply, "The challenge, story and my character, are the three things I see while signing a film."

Trade talk

Industry has started looking at her with respect post Highway -- Komal Nahata

"Alia is mind-blowing in Highway. After watching the film I feel she's definitely made of good stuff! I think Highway will do for Alia what Jab We Met did for Kareena Kapoor Khan. The film totally belongs to her. Alia has portrayed everything from light comic humour to drama and emotional scenes. Two more releases this year won't be an overkill. The film trade and industry has started looking at her with a lot of respect post Highway. Her choice of subjects and films is good. Today's generation of actors and actresses are intelligent. Alia's mother Soni Razdan has been an actress, her father Mahesh Bhatt is a filmmaker so she is getting the right guidance and direction. Also, she did her first film with Karan Johar and picked up a lot from him. I can't find anything lacking in her performance. In her second film she has proved that she is a veteran!"

Alia is giving nightmares to her competitors -- Taran Adarsh

"I think Alia is dynamite because in her very second film she has done a complete somersault! Her role in Highway is completely de-glamorous and performance-oriented. She could have stumbled and made a laughing stock of herself. Instead, she has a done a brilliant job. Imtiaz's movies have always set benchmarks and actors have to live upto those expectations. But the way Alia has handled it, is remarkable.

She is going to emerge as the best heroine of the year amongst the new breed of heroines. She could have done another glamorous role and no one would have objected, but she decided to swim against the tide. Her chances are very good at the BO. She's doing films of diverse genres and big budget films too. Who would refuse such films? Right now, Alia is giving nightmares to her competitors."
