Akshay Kumar had teased everyone with his mysterious tweet today afternoon by writing that he wants to share some exciting news and we finally know what the Khiladi was talking about.

Akshay, who is quite passionate about sports, will be directed by Reema Kagti in a sports film titled ‘Gold’ and taking to his Twitter page, Kumar wrote, “Set in 1948, the historic story of India's first Olympic medal as a free nation, GOLD coming to you on 15th August, 2018!” The film will be produced by Excel Entertainment and we are quite curious to know what role Akshay will play in the film. For those who do not know this, the Indian field hockey team defeated the British team to win the country's only gold medal at the 1948 Summer Olympics. It was the country's first Olympic gold medal since India became independent.

Akshay will be next seen playing a lawyer in Subhash Kapoor’s legal satire ‘Jolly LLB 2’.
