Ingredients/ Method
1/2 a can of crushed tomatoes ( Tomato Pulp or canned whoel tomatoes). You can also use fresh tomatoes. I prefer fresh over canned but sometimes its just easier to use canned products
1 cup of chopped onions
3-4 cloves of garlic chopped
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp dried ginger powder
1 tsp paprika ( or 1/2 tsp red chilli pwd)
10-12 dried curry leaves
1 cup of water
1/2 tsp of garam masala (optional) or 1/2 tsp of pepper I used seasoning pepper.
2 tbsp oil
1 tsp cumin and mustard seeds
Method: Heat a pan and add oil. once oil is hot, add cumin and mustard. Give them about 30 secs and add onions and garlic. Mix well. Add other spices. After 2-3 mins, once onions start to become golden brown. Add tomatoes, water and let simmer for 2 mins. Add vegetable idlis In ( Recipe for veg idlis here: ) and enjoy.
