Meena Kumari (1st August 1932) was one of the most prominent Hindi film actresses and an Urdu poetess who started her career at the tender age of 7. She was known for portraying the roles of a tragic, suffering woman in most of her films. She immortalized the role of a courtesan, Sahibjaan in the film Pakeezah with her extraordinary charm and beautiful performance on all its songs.
