लगातार बढ़ती महंगाई के कारण भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक को भी नोट छापना महंगा पड़ रहा है. हाल ही में एक सूचना के अधिकार के तहत मांगी गई जानकारी में खुलासा हुआ कि भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक को किस नोट को छापने में कितना खर्च आता है. इसके अनुसार 200 रुपये के नोट की छपाई का खर्च 500 रुपये के नोट की तुलना में ज्यादा आता है

According to this, the cost of printing a 200 rupee note is more than that of a 500 rupee note.
