Why was Priyanka Chopra unable to shoot for the Mary Kom biopic in Manali
by
Priyanka Chopra was in Manali a few days back to shoot for her upcoming biopic on Mary Kom. The Zanjeer actor stayed put in her van and was unable to come out to shoot some of the important scenes for the film. Now what happened that she didn't come out for shooting the scenes? We wonder...
A little birdie informs us that PC was surrounded by a huge mob and she therefore decided to stay put in her van. The shoot had to be cancelled for the day as the crowd was becoming pretty unruly after getting to know that Piggy Chops was going to be there for the shoot. The crowds kept on swelling but after the shoot being cancelled they dispersed and so did PC, who went back to her abode in the hill station. Talking to a leading daily a unit member said, "We have recreated Darjeeling in Manali and shooting over the past weeks has gone off smoothly. The last leg of the shoot is currently on, and for one of the sequences, we had to shoot in a market place. Since the area is not thickly populated, we thought it wouldn't be a difficult task. Accordingly, we had arranged for limited security on the sets." But this lack of security somehow backfired on the makers as word spread like wild fire about the shoot among the local people and they thronged the sets in huge masses. "Soon the situation was out of control. More than 10,000 people gathered on the sets and the security could not handle the crowds. When Priyanka stepped out of her van, some fans tried to approach her. Finally, we had to cancel the shoot and move out of the location. After nearly four hours, the area was evacuated and we asked for more security on the sets. Half of the day was wasted due to this chaos," added the source speaking to the leading daily.
Now we can only imagine the overwhelming joy of the local people on seeing their favourite star live in front of them. So all was well that ended well. Maybe not that well for the film producers, after all a full day's shoot had to be re-scheduled. Hai na, peeps?
