Why is Ranbir Kapoor promoting Alia Bhatt's Highway?

Rarely you get to see Bollywood stars go out to promote others films, Shahrukh Khan had come to friend Farah Khan's rescue during Joker promotions after the film's lead actors Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha backed out at the last moment. Looks like, Ranbir Kapoor is doing an SRK act by standing up for filmmaker and friend Imtiaz Ali's film starring newbie Alia Bhatt and the not-so-popular Randeep Hooda. We all know of how the Jab We Met director and Barfi! actor became thick friends after they worked together in Rockstar. The actor was allowed to watch the film much earlier than the rest of the industry and the Kapoor lad loved it, so much that he wanted to extend his support for this project. We weren't really surprised to catch Kapoor Jr take time out from his busy work and party schedule to make time for Highway promotions.

Ranbir, Imtiaz and Ali apparently took a truck ride inside Film City Studios in Mumbai, and RK turned a journo quizzing the filmmaker and his heroine about their Highway journey for a leading English news channel. We hope that Ranboo asked Imtiaz and Alia some fun and crazy questions too that a normal journalist couldn't possibly ask. But, we really doubt considering how his own personal life has been under the media scanner and the fact that he is will soon be working in Imtiaz's next film opposite ex-lover Deepika Padukone he wouldn't wanna take that risk, hai na BollywoodLifers?
