On this day, in 2001, VVS Laxman played one of cricket's most iconic knocks. His 281 at Eden Gardens, Kolkata marked one of the best come-from-behind performances ever to help India level the series against a strong Australian side led by Steve Waugh. Courtesy that knock India became only the second team to win a Test after being asked to follow-on. India not only won the Kolkata Test but went on to beat Australia in Chennai to win the series 2-1.
