देश के अधिकतर हिस्सों में शीतलहर का प्रकोप बढ़ता जा रहा है। पहाड़ी राज्यों में शुष्क लेकिन तीखी ठंड और ऊंचाई वाले इलाकों में बर्फबारी का सिलसिला जारी है, जबकि मैदानी हिस्सों में घना कोहरा और प्रदूषण जनजीवन को प्रभावित कर रहा है। वहीं, दक्षिण भारत और समुद्री क्षेत्रों में चक्रवातीय प्रसार के चलते गरज-चमक के साथ बारिश और तेज हवाओं की चेतावनी दी गई है। मौसम विभाग के ताजा अपडेट के अनुसार उत्तर-पश्चिम भारत पर पश्चिमी विक्षोभ और उपोष्णकटिबंधीय पश्चिमी जेट स्ट्रीम का असर बना हुआ है, जबकि दक्षिण में ऊपरी हवाओं की गतिविधियां सक्रिय हैं। दिल्ली-एनसीआर में तापमान गिरने से 5 दिन तक कोहरे का अनुमान है।

The cold wave is intensifying across most parts of the country. Hilly regions are experiencing dry but biting cold, and snowfall continues in higher altitudes, while dense fog and pollution are affecting daily life in the plains. Meanwhile, in South India and coastal areas, a cyclonic circulation is expected to bring thunderstorms, rain, and strong winds. According to the latest update from the Meteorological Department, a Western Disturbance and the subtropical westerly jet stream continue to influence Northwest India, while upper air activity remains active in the south. In Delhi-NCR, falling temperatures are expected to result in fog for the next five days.
