Amit Shah on Waqf Bill: Union Home Minister Amit Shah says, "...It was your (opposition) insistence that a Joint Parliamentary Committee should be formed. We do not have a committee like the Congress. We have a democratic committee, which brainstorms. 'Congress ke zamane mein committee hoti thi jo thappa lagati thi'. Our committee discusses, deliberates on the basis of discussions and makes changes. If the changes are not to be accepted, then what is the point of the committee?"

Amit Shah on Waqf Bill: केंद्रीय गृह मंत्री अमित शाह कहते हैं, "...यह आपका (विपक्ष का) आग्रह था कि एक संयुक्त संसदीय समिति बनाई जानी चाहिए। हमारे पास कांग्रेस जैसी समिति नहीं है। हमारे पास एक लोकतांत्रिक समिति है, जो मंथन करती है। 'कांग्रेस के ज़माने में समिति होती थी जो थप्पा लगाती थी'। हमारी समिति चर्चा करती है, चर्चा के आधार पर विचार-विमर्श करती है और बदलाव करती है। अगर बदलाव स्वीकार नहीं किए जाने हैं, तो समिति का क्या मतलब है?"
