When the #MeToo wave engulfed India several prominent personalities were accused of being sexual predators. Vikas Bahl was also accused of sexual misconduct by a former female employee of Phantom Films however, he has been given a clean chit after an internal inquiry was conducted.

The internal inquiry was set up by Reliance Entertainment, which holds 50% stake in Phantom Films. Vikas was dropped as the director of Hrithik Roshan starrer Super 30, when he got accused of sexual misconduct, last year. However, now that he has been exonerated, he will be credited as the director of the movie.

This controversy also led to the dissolution of Phantom Films, which was started in 2011 by Vikas, Anurag Kashyap, Madhu Mantena and Vikramaditya Motwane. After Bahl got accused by his former employee, Anurag and Vikramaditya spoke against him. Vikas has filed a defamation case against the duo.

Super 30 is based on the life of mathematician Anand Kumar, who is best known for his efforts to educate underprivileged students. Super 30 will release on July 12.
