Aloo poha cutlets is a very popular among all ages and my family is no exceptional so I started preparing sometimes with plantain and I mostly air fry these days. I still love deep fried cutlets but I can compromise with air fryer result but not shallow fried or baked as the sides remain sort of uncooked.

1 cup thick poha / flattened rice / beaten rice
2 big or 4 medium potato, boiled & mashed (Plantain or Raw banana can be used to replace potato)
2 Bread slices or 1 cup bread or cracker crumbs
¼ tsp turmeric / haldi
½ tsp Red Pepper flakes or kashmiri red chilli powder / lal mirch powder
half tsp garam masala powder, optional
1 tbsp lemon juice or ¼ tsp aamchur / dry mango powder
½ tsp chaat masala if available
1/2 tbsp ginger garlic paste
1/2 tsp green chili paste or finely chopped chili
½ tsp salt
2 tbsp coriander leaves, finely chopped
Note: The patties can be rolled into dry bread or cracker crumbs to make patties crunchy from outside but not necessary when deep frying or air frying.
The tikis can be filled with your favorite stuffing. I love to fill the patties with green peas and cheese(Paneer) stuffing.
