1. The movie is a sequel to Karan Johar’s Student of The Year with which he had launched Alia Bhatt, Sidharth Malhotra and Varun Dhawan. While the first edition was directed by KJo, he is producing the sequel and Punit Malhotra is directing it.

2.The film was shot extensively at Forest Research Institute (FRI) and St. Teresas School, Dehradun.

3.Chunky Pandey’s daughter Ananya Panday is marking her Bollywood debut with the film.

4.Child artiste Tara Sutaria, who has worked in shows like The Suite Life Of Karan & Kabir and Big Bada Boom, is also making her debut with the movie.

5. Samir Soni, who had played a key role in Punit Malhotra’s I Hate Luv Storys, is playing the principal of the school in SOTY 2, a role which was played by Rishi Kapoor in the original.

6.Television actor Abhishek Bajaj of Bitti Business Wali fame, is playing Tiger Shroff’s rival in the movie.

7. Hollywood superstar Will Smith visited the sets of SOTY 2 and his experience of being on a Bollywood film’s set will be showcased in the last episode of his show Bucket List. Buzz has it that he will also have a special appearance in the movie and recently a video, which showed him dancing to Radha Teri Chunri from SOTY, surfaced.

8. Alia Bhatt has shot a special number with Tiger Shroff for the movie.

9. Reportedly, a remixed version of Kishore Kumar’s hit number Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani from Jawani Diwani (1972) will feature in the high school romedy.

10. Ananya had to drive a car for one of her scenes and while driving she lost her control and banged into a tree. Fortunately, she escaped unharmed.
