Tate Modern and Africa Express present Terry Riley’s In C Mali

Marking the fiftieth anniversary of Terry Riley’s pioneering masterpiece ‘In C’, this interactive film features a live performance of the first African version of the minimalist classic, intercut with iconic minimalist artworks from the Tate Collection.

The film follows the musicians brought together by Africa Express, and led by classical conductor André de Ridder, as they perform live at Tate Modern. Viewers can create their own journey through the film, watching the performance, exploring art in Tate’s galleries, and going on the road to Bamako, Mali, with Africa Express.
