Moong Daal 1 cup
(split & skinned Green Grams or Yellow lentils)
Masoor Daal 1 cup
(Red Lentils)
Desi Ghee or Oil ½ Cup
Finely Chopped Onion 1 Cup
Chopped Garlic 1 tbsp
Chopped Ginger 1tbsp
Green Chilies 3-4
Salt to taste
Red chili powder 1 tsp
Turmeric powder 1 tsp
Coriander Powder 1 tsp
Nigella Seeds 1 tsp
Kasuri Methi 1 tsp
(Dried fenugreek leaves)
Tomatoes 2 (Large)
Water 10-12 cups

For Garnishing:
Julienne cut Ginger
Slices Green Chilies
Chopped Fresh Coriander Leaves
Fried Onion

Ingredients for Tarka (Tempering)
Desi Ghee or Oil ½ Cup
Garlic (sliced) 2-3 (Sliced)
Cumin Seeds ½ tbsp
Dried Whole Red Chilies 4-5
Red Chili Powder ½ tbsp
