नई संसद में चोल साम्राज्य में सत्ता के प्रतीक राजदंड सेन्गोल को स्थापित किये जाने को लेकर भी सियासत प्रचंड हो चली है, बीजेपी कह रही है कि 1947 में पंडित नेहरू को सत्ता हस्तांतरण के प्रतीक के तौर पर सेन्गोल सौंपा गया था, लेकिन कांग्रेस ने स्वाधीनता के उस प्रतीक को नेहरू की छड़ी बनाकर म्यूजियम में पहुंचा दिया, बीजेपी के मुताबिक जिस सेन्गोल को देश के सम्मान के तौर पर देखा जाना चाहिए था उसे नेहरू की छड़ी बनाकर रख दिया गया था, इस पर कांग्रेस ने सेन्गोल को सत्ता हस्तांतरण के प्रतीक मानने से इनकार कर दिया, विपक्ष इसमें भी हिंदू मुस्लिम ढूंढ रहा है, और सेन्गोल के साथ दूसरे धर्मों के प्रतीकों को भी नई संसद में स्थापित करने की मांग कर रहा है, इन सबके बीच जिस मठ पर नेहरू को सेन्गोल सौंपने का दावा किया जा रहा था उस मठ ने कांग्रेस के आरोप पर जवाब दिया है और कांग्रेस के लगाए आरोपों को पूरी तरह से गलत बताया है, कुल मिलाकर संसद की नई इमारत के उद्घाटन को लेकर शुरू हुई सियासत अब सेन्गोल पर भी घूम गई है...आखिर इस सियासत के क्या मायने हैं....राजदंड पर आखिर राजनीति इतनी क्यों प्रचंड है...
