Amid the ongoing 'Rashtrapatni' row, with BJP accusing the Congress of "demeaning" President Droupadi Murmu and demanding an apology, Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi on Thursday (July 28, 2022) said that the Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury “has already apologised.” The 'rashtrapatni' row lead to the brief adjournment of the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha today, after which Sonia Gandhi was asked if she will urge Adhir Chowdhury to apologise. In response to the question, Sonia Gandhi said, "He has already apologised."

Adhir Ranjan Controversial Remark: राष्ट्रपति द्रौपदी मुर्मू को लेकर कांग्रेस सांसद अधीर रंजन चौधरी के बयान पर गुरुवार को संसद में जमकर हंगामा हुआ. हंगामे के कारण लोकसभा की कार्यवाही को 12 बजे तक स्थगित कर दिया गया. सदन के स्थगित होने के बाद कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष सोनिया गांधी और केंद्रीय मंत्री स्मृति ईरानी के बीच बहस हो गई.
