Bollywood actor-turned-politician, Shatrughan Sinha quit Bhartiya Janta Party and joined Congress on March 28 and will be INC’s candidate from Patna Sahib and his daughter Sonakshi Sinha is hailing her father’s decision.
At a recent awards ceremony, when asked about her father joining Congress party, after being associated with BJP, for over three decades, Sona said, “That is his decision and I think if you are not happy with the way things are happening at the place where you are, then you should definitely bring about a change and that’s what he did, and I hope that he will be able to do a lot more good work with this new association with Congress and not feel suppressed."
"I think being such a senior leader, having such a vast knowledge and being a member of the party from the very beginning, from the times of Jai Prakash Narayan ji, Atal ji and LK Advani ji, I think my father has a lot of respect within the party and I think that those leaders, that entire group has not been given the kind of respect that they deserved, I think it was time to move on. In fact, I feel that he did it a bit too late, he should have done it long back."
Meanwhile, Sona is looking forward to the release of her next kalank, in which she will be seen sharing screen space with Aditya Roy Kapur, Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Madhuri Dixit and Sanjay Dutt.
