The trailer of Diljit Dosanjh-Taapsee Pannu starrer Soorma was unveiled a few days ago and we couldn’t help but notice the similarity between it and Salman Khan’s blockbuster hit Sultan.

While Salman has played a fictional character in Sultan, Dosanjh is essaying the role of international hockey player, Sandeep Singh in Soorma and now, we will tell you how the two films are similar:

Late Bloomers: In Sultan, Salman’s character begins training in wrestling much later in life and in Soorma too, Diljit’s character starts taking hockey seriously only once he is a young adult.
Love Matters: Salman Khan’s Sultan becomes a wrestler to impress his ladylove, who was a wrestling champ and in Soorma too Diljit’s character decides to become a hockey player because he falls for a hockey player.

Opposition Galore: Both the characters get ridiculed for starting out much-later in life and succeed despite getting deterred by naysayers.

Desertion Drama: In both the films, the main protagonists get abandoned by their partners and give up on their sport, though under different circumstances.

Haryanvi Heroes: Both the films are set in Haryana. Sultan was a jat and Sandeep Singh too hails from Haryana.

Victory Saga: The lead characters of both the films return as warriors and ace their respective game after a long sabbatical.
