Sidharth Malhotra Jets Off To Jammu And Kashmir To Shoot For Shershaah

Sidharth Malhotra is playing the role of Kargil War hero, Captain Vikram Batra in his biopic Shershaah and the actor has now jetted off to Kashmir to shoot the second schedule of the movie.

The second schedule of the movie will be shot in Jammu, Leh and Kargil. Since the government has revoked Article 370, there were reports of unrest however, the makers claim that only ‘Srinagar is a little tense’ while Kargil, Leh and Jammu are calm and they are optimistic that things will ‘ease out’ in the coming days. It’s a 40-day schedule and the film’s team will be there till September 15. The war sequences and the climax scenes will be shot during this schedule.

Captain Vikram Batra posthumously received India’s highest and most prestigious award for valour, the Param Vir Chakra for the grit and courage that he displayed during the 1999 Kargil War. He was often referred to as ‘'Shershah'’ (Lion King) in the intercepted messages of the Pakistan Army.

Shershaah also stars Kiara Advani and Rakul Preet in the lead roles.
