Experienced campaigner Shreyas Iyer fell for a seven-ball duck in the first innings of India D in their Duleep Trophy second-round match against India A in Anantapur on Friday, September 13. Iyer, India D captain, managed to stay just seven deliveries in the middle as the brilliance of left-arm pacer Khaleel Ahmed undid him. India D were put on the back foot after their opposition posted 290 and picked four early wickets in the first session on Friday.
It was an interesting outing for Shreyas Iyer as the Mumbai batter walked out wearing sunglasses tucked inside his helmet. A lot was expected from the skipper as India D needed a senior campaigner to hold fort and steer them out of trouble. However, Shreyas was troubled by Khaleel Ahmed, who peppered him with short deliveries before bowling a fuller delivery that got his wicket.

Shreyas Iyer, who has been trying to get better against the short balls, was leaving them well, but he was rooted to the back of the crease to a fuller delivery. Iyer drove the delivery, but he was caught at mid-on by Aaqib Khan.
