On 8th November 2016 independent India saw its biggest economic policy decision by the Modi government.

Demonetisation affected 86% of India's printed currency and was slated to drive out black money and illegal hoarding of cash along with dealing with counterfeit currency...but almost 2 years later and we still don't know what good it did.

So here's an attempt to make sense of what has happened.
