The anniversary celebrations came to a close with 30 Years: The Sale, a 100-per-cent sold, cross-category Evening Sale, with more than 40 per cent of lots hammered down above their high estimate. The top lot was a magnificent large blue and white ‘dragon’ jar (1426-1435), which realised HK$ 158,040,000 / US$ 20,447,642.
Leading The Imperial sale was Prince Kung’s ‘Dragon and Phoenix’ Tianhuang Seals, which achieved a world record price for any Tianhuang seal sold at auction, realising HK$85,240,000/ US$11,024,686.
In the Magnificent Jewels sale, the Aurora Green fetched HK$ 130 million / US$ 16.8 million, a world record auction price for a green diamond. The five additional jewels offered in 30 Years: The Sale totalled HK$ 191,640,000 / US$ 24,794,901, and included three world records.
