Royal Challengers Bengaluru head coach Andy Flower and director of cricket, Mo Babat, shed light on the former finalists' decision to not retain fast bowler Mohammed Siraj ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 mega auction.

In a move that surprised quite a few, RCB chose not to retain Siraj after having backed the pacer ever since his maiden season with them in 2018. RCB retained only three players -- Virat Kohli at RS 21 crore, Rajat Patidar at Rs 11 crore and Yash Dayal at Rs 5 crore. RCB helped raise a few eyebrows by retaining Yash ahead of Siraj for the upcoming season.

Speaking to the franchise after the retentions were announced on October 31, Andy Flower said RCB were looking to retain a left-arm pacer and that worked in Yash Dayal's favour.
