जिस दिन से इस लोकसभा चुनावों की घोषणा हुई है, उसके बाद से लेकर चुनाव परिणाम घोषित होने तक आरएसएस के किसी भी बड़े नेता ने सरकार या भाजपा के कामकाज को लेकर कोई बड़ा बयान नहीं दिया है। पूरे चुनाव के दौरान इस बात की चर्चा होती रही कि इस चुनाव में राष्ट्रीय स्वयंसेवक संघ (RSS) शिथिल पड़ गया है। पार्टी के नेताओं ने इस दूरी को पाटने की कोई कोशिश नहीं की। उलटे भाजपा के राष्ट्रीय अध्यक्ष जेपी नड्डा ने एक बयान से दोनों संगठनों में दूरी होने का संकेत गया। इससे पार्टी को नुकसान हुआ।
