Qandeel Baloch Killed By his Brother in Multan - Honor Killing

Controversial Pakistani model and social media celeb Qandeel Baloch, who made headlines when she promised to strip dance for her nation and to dedicate her dance to cricketer Shahid Afridi if Pakistan won the Twenty20 match against India on 19 March 2016, was killed by her brother Waseem in Multan today.

Sultan Azam, a senior police officer in Multan confirmed the news and revealed that it was 'an incident of honour killing' and that she was strangled to death by her own brother at her Multan residence. Forensic experts are presently examining her body.

She was visiting her parents in Multan and had celebrated Eid with them. Reportedly, Qandeel's brother had been threatening her to not post suggestive pictures and videos on social media and strangled her in her sleep. A team of cops has been dispatched to Dera Ghazi Khan to search for Waseem.

Baloch had earlier sought security from the interior minister, the director general of the Federal Investigation Authority (FIA) and the senior superintendent of Islamabad, claiming that she was receiving death threats. She stated that she wasn't feeling safe in her country and is thus planning to shift abroad with her parents.

The Pakistani internet sensation recently took the social media by storm, when she posted a few pictures with Mufti Abdul Qavi on her Facebook page. In one of the pictures she was also seen wearing Mufti's signature hat.There were rumours that she had also been approached to star in Bigg Boss' next season.

She had stated that she wasn't feeling safe in her country and was planning to shift abroad with her parents.
