We had reported months back that Bollywood superstar Salman Khan’s upcoming film ‘Tubelight’ is ‘inspired’ by Hollywood war drama ‘Little Boy’ and if you were skeptical about this theory, a look at the teaser will banish all doubts.

There is a scene in the teaser, in which Salman’s character is seen trying to move mountains by sheer power of his faith and the entire sequence has been blatantly copied from the 2015 release ‘Little Boy’. Released in 2015, Little Boy is set against the backdrop of World War II and tells the story of a young kid whose father has gone to the war against Japan. The little protagonist wants his father to return home and in his quest to get his father home, the kid encounters a magician and a priest who convince the little kid that the power to bring his dad back safely lies within himself and his actions based on faith.

In ‘Tubelight’, Salman plays a simpleton, who wants his brother (Sohail Khan) to come back safely from the Indo-China war and encounters a magician (played by none other than Shah Rukh Khan), who convinces him that his faith will bring back his brother unharmed.

Do have a look at the two trailers below to see what we mean…

Directed by Kabir Khan, ‘Tubelight’ is slated to release this Eid.
