पीएम विश्वकर्मा योजना के शुभारंभ पर पीएम मोदी ने कहा, 'दुनिया में कॉन्फ्रेंस टूरिज्म बढ़ रहा है, जिसमें भारत के लिए असीमित संभावनाएं हैं. सम्मेलन पर्यटन उद्योग दुनिया में 25 लाख करोड़ रुपये से अधिक का है. दुनिया में हर साल 32,000 से ज्यादा बड़ी प्रदर्शनियां और एक्सपो होते हैं. 2-5 करोड़ की आबादी वाले देश भी इसकी व्यवस्था करते हैं, हमारी आबादी 140 करोड़ है. सम्मेलन पर्यटन के लिए आने वाले लोग सामान्य पर्यटकों की तुलना में अधिक पैसा खर्च करते हैं. इस उद्योग में भारत की भागीदारी सिर्फ 1% है. आज का नया भारत कॉन्फ्रेंस टूरिज्म के लिए खुद को तैयार कर रहा है. एडवेंचर, चिकित्सा, आध्यात्मिक और विरासत पर्यटन वहीं होता है जहां आवश्यक वातावरण होता है. इसी तरह कॉन्फ्रेंस टूरिज्म भी वहां होगा जहां इवेंट और मीटिंग की सुविधाएं होंगी. भारत मंडपम और यशोभूमि दिल्ली को सम्मेलन पर्यटन का सबसे बड़ा केंद्र बनाएंगे."
On the launch of PM Vishwakarma Yojana, PM Modi said, 'Conference tourism is increasing in the world, which has unlimited possibilities for India. The conference tourism industry in the world is worth more than Rs 25 lakh crore. Every year more than 32,000 big exhibitions and expos are held in the world. Even countries with population of 2-5 crores make this arrangement, our population is 140 crores. People who come for conference tourism spend more money than general tourists. India's participation in this industry is only 1%. Today's new India is preparing itself for conference tourism. Adventure, medical, spiritual and heritage tourism occurs only where the necessary environment exists. Similarly, conference tourism will also happen where there are facilities for events and meetings. Bharat Mandapam and Yashobhoomi will make Delhi the biggest center of convention tourism."
