लोकसभा में आज कांग्रेस सांसद शशि थरूर ने भारत के स्पेस कार्यक्रम की जमकर प्रशंसा की। वह अपना भाषण पूरा कर बैठे ही थे कि केंद्रीय मंत्री अनुप्रिया पटेल आपत्ति दर्ज कराने के लिए खड़ी हो गईं। उन्होंने कहा कि डॉ. शशि थरूर एक विद्वान और वरिष्ठ सदस्य हैं। जब भी वह डिबेट में भाग लेते हैं तो उन्हें सुनना काफी बेहतर अनुभव होता है। काफी अच्छी चीजें हैं सर, लेकिन आज मैं उन्हें उनकी स्पीच के बीच में रोकना नहीं चाहती थी। मुझे उम्मीद है कि मैंने सही सुना है। सर, आपने अपनी स्पीच में एक बात कही जिससे मैं सहमत नहीं हूं और मैं आपकी बात को रीपीट करती हूं, 'कई लड़कियां और महिलाएं हैं जो साइंस और प्रौद्योगिकी के क्षेत्र में एंट्री कर रही हैं। हम उनमें से कई को स्पेस प्रोग्राम्स में देख भी चुके हैं तो संसद से उलट उन्हें स्पेस प्रोग्राम का हिस्सा बनने के लिए आरक्षण की जरूरत नहीं है।'
