Mr. Saichiro Misumi is the 100-year-old Japanese National, who was a close associate of Netaji Shri Subhash Chandra Bose. Mr. Misumi was instrumental in inviting the visit of Shri nSubhash Chandra Bose to Japan in 1943 and organising his famous meeting in Hibiya Park in Tokyo in Japan.
After the end of the World War II, Mr. Misumi became active in promoting high-level political and cultural delegations between India and Japan to deepen the ties. Mr. Misumi was instrumental in giving a boost to the economic relations. In recognition his yeomen services, the Indian Government conferred the high civilian honour of "Padma Bhushan" to Mr. Saichiro Misumi.
