Veteran Bollywood actor Om Puri passed away at his Mumbai residence after suffering a massive heart attack, early Friday. He was 66.
Born in Ambala, on October 18, 1950, he graduated from the Film and Television Institute of India, Pune. He was also an alumnus of the 1973 class of National School of Drama. He made his film debut with Marathi film Ghashiram Kotwal, in 1976. Puri won the National Award for his role in 1982 release Ardh Satya (1982).
The Padmashri recipient was last seen in a special appearance in Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's Mirzya. He is survived by his son Ishaan Puri.
