writes the author: "the light filters gently through the glass of shrines
the men, they pray gently, their words being mine
arcs of a culture embrace me within as the year ends and begins again
today you are sleeping in your childhood bed while I try to recall the words I read
"you shall not have idols... ."
we are free to assume the shape of knowledge through time's vacuum
the chosen being free to choose
the way I choose to look at you
today, you're at your father's house worshipping his god
I sit there quietly, the prayer surrounding me
thinking what you mean to me
wondering about destiny
listening for the voice to free me

This is a very personal song that I wrote quite a long time ago. I recorded and released it (on vinyl, no less) with my band at that time. This is a very different version. Not sure that I'm satisfied, but not sure I can do any better right now. It has been my goal to re-record and share this song at this time of year for over two years. At least I accomplished that much.
Thanks to Gurdonark, Dimitri Artimenko, William Berry and Jovica for freely sharing their music with us. Jovice's tubular bell samples are from Freesound.
Special thanks to Helen Money who plays cello on this track. If she gives me permission, I will upload her cello parts for remixing.
Vocal stems uploaded as additional files hereto."
