Modak is the steamed rice dumplings, stuffed with freshly grated and sauted coconut and Jaggery. It's a very healthy and tasty dish that can be made with easily available Indian kitchen ingredients such as Rice powder, coconut and jaggery.
Modak is the primary dish that is served on the auspicious day Ganesh chaturthi or Vinayak chaturthi. According to hindu's belief, modak is the favorite dish of lord Ganesha.
The preparation of Modak has 3 simple steps. 1.Dough making 2.Puran making 3.Steaming the ruce dumplings.
Firstly we prepare the dough by adding the rice flour and salt into boiling water to make the dough soft and manageable. The puran made of coconut and jaggery will give the sweet to dumplings. Final step is to steam the rice dumplings wrapped with jaggery and coconut.

Dough making:
Rice flour 1 Cup
Salt 1/4 Tsp
Water 1 Cup
Ghee 1 Tbsp

Puran making:
Ghee 2 Tsp
Coconut 1 Cup
Jaggery 1/2 Cup
Cardamom powder 1/2 Tsp
