आज की बहस उस टाइप की नहीं है कि पहले अंडे से मुर्गी आई थी या फिर मुर्गी से अंडा। ...बहस थोड़ी संजीदा है। ..क्या ये सच नहीं है कि भारत में जितने भी मुसलमान हैं उनके पूर्वज कभी न कभी हिन्दू थे?...वो जड़ों से कहीं न कहीं हिन्दू हैं? पढ़े-लिखे मुसलमान भी इस सच से इनकार नहीं करते हैं। ..तो फिर इस सच को खुलकर बोलने में हल्ला मचाने जैसा क्या है? कांग्रेस के पूर्व नेता गुलाम नबी आज़ाद का एक भाषण 7 दिन बाद वायरल होते-होते लोगों तक पहुंचा है। ये भाषण उन्होंने 9 अगस्त को डोडा के चिरल्ला गांव में दिया था। हिन्दू-मुस्लिम भाईचारे को कैसे एड्रेस किया जाता है, ये भाषण उसकी मिसाल था। राजनीति में धर्म का घालमेल करने वालों को उन्होंने नसीहत दी थी। हिन्दू-मुसलमानों को कहा था कि मरने के बाद जलाए जाओ या दफ़नाए जाओ...रहना इसी भारत माता की मिट्टी में है। लेकिन इतने अच्छे भाषण में से भी कुछ लोगों ने विवाद के लायक मसाला निकाल लिया। गुलाम नबी आज़ाद ने इतना भर कहा कि मुसलमान तो हिंदुओं से कन्वर्ट होकर मुसलमान बने हैं। ..इस्लाम तो 1500 साल पहले आया, हिन्दू धर्म तो बहुत पुराना है। कश्मीर में यही मुसलमान 600 साल पहले तो कश्मीरी पंडित हुआ करते थे। सब यहीं पैदा हुए हैं और यहीं पर धर्म बदला है।
सीधे-सीधे तो नहीं लेकिन एक तरह से गुलाम नबी आज़ाद ने वही कह दिया जो RSS कहता है या फिर संघ प्रमुख कहते हैं कि सबके पूर्वज एक हैं, सबका DNA एक है।
