Way back in 2004, Raveena Tandon and Manoj Bajpayee had teamed up for a film named ‘Jaago’, which revolved around a mother taking the law into her own hands after her daughter is gang-raped by a bunch of goons and Raveena’s upcoming film ‘Maatr’ seems like a fresh take on the same story.

Set in New Delhi, ‘Maatr’ revolves around a mother (played by Raveena), who turns into a vigilante after her daughter is brutally gang-raped by a bunch of influential men and the law enforcement authorities seem unable to book the culprits. However, having said that, the trailer is gritty and dark and we are curious to see what Raveena brings to the table this time around.

Written by Michael Pellico and directed by Ashtar Sayed, ‘Maatr’ is slated to release on April 21.
