बिहार (Bihar) के शिक्षा मंत्री चंद्रशेखर (Chandra Shekhar) ने बुधवार को रामायण (Ramayana) पर आधारित हिंदू धार्मिक पुस्तक रामचरितमानस को 'समाज में नफरत फैलाने वाला ग्रंथ बताया है. राष्ट्रीय जनता दल (RJD) के दिग्गज नेताओं में शुमार चंद्रशेखर के इस बयान पर जमकर हंगामा बरपा है. नालंदा यूनिवर्सिटी के 15वें दीक्षांत समारोह के दौरान उन्होंने यह बयान दिया है. बिहार के राज्यपाल फागू चौहान भी इस कार्यक्रम में मौजूद थे. अब चंद्रशेखर के इस बयान पर विपक्ष सत्तारूढ़ सरकार को घेर रहा है.
